Sunday Ballroom at the KIA - May 4th

Sun not snow…

Sunday May 4 was the make-up dance for the February dance which was cancelled because of the snowstorm. Fortunately, it was a nice, sunny day-not a snowflake in sight! There were 48 dancers and spectators who took advantage of this make-up dance. In addition to great dancing, we were treated to a beautiful Waltz showcase performed by our own Melissa Muha and our DJ Bob Northrop. They trained for many months with Louis Soma of Grand Ledge, and the practice showed! What a beautiful showcase! Many thanks to both of you for the beauty you brought to our dance.

The election for the Board of Directors for 2008-2009 was held. All four candidates who volunteered were unanimously elected to serve three-year terms. The newly elected members, Karen Rix, Sheri Stewart, Nancy Jackson and Mike Malloy, will join Fran Eckenrode, Hugh Welsh and Marie Lynn on the Board. I addition, President Jan Symons had offered to stay on for another year to help with the transition. Welcome to our new Board Members!

We already have nine members who have renewed their memberships for next season. Our price is the same - $90 for all nine dances, July to April 2009 or $75 for any six dances. We will offer the passes at the July dance, as well as anytime prior to the dance. See the link to print a pass for next season.

Last but not least, many thanks to everyone who helps with the clean-up afterward. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Keep smiling and dancing! See you in July!

Jan Symons
Board President

Not a dancer, but love to watch? No problem! The general public is always
welcome to take a spectator seat at SW Michigan Ballroom Dances.
